What I may collect

I may collect the following information:
  • name and job title
  • contact information including email address
  • demographic information such as postcode, preferences and interests
  • other information relevant to customer surveys and/or offers

What I do with the information I gather

I require this information to understand your needs and provide you with a better service, and in particular for the following reasons:
  • Internal record keeping.
  • I may use the information to improve my products and services.
  • I may periodically send promotional emails about new products, special offers or other information which I think you may find interesting using the email address which you have provided.
  • From time to time, I may also use your information to contact you for market research purposes. I may contact you by email, phone, fax or mail. I may use the information to customise the website according to your interests.

Photographic References

I may request photographic references in order to complete your commission. They will only be used for this purpose and not retained after the artwork is in your possession and approved, requiring no further work/amendments.
Your photographs will be held electronically and may be transferred from my computer to a tablet and/or printed, this is solely for reference while working on your artwork.
Any physical copies I make will be destroyed (shredded) 3 months after use, as well as electronic files deleted, to allow you time to re-order or request alterations.
Physical photographs received from you will be scanned to avoid working from your original, avoiding any potential damage to your original photograph. This copy will be destroyed after use unless you request I retain your photos for future work. Your original photographs will be returned to you with the completed work (free of charge) or beforehand via secure post if requested (small p&p fee required).
You may request I retain photographic references for future work not yet processed, in this case they will be stored on a secure protected computer or backup external hard-drive, and not retained on a tablet/phone. They will be destroyed in 24 months should I not hear from you, any originals will be returned to you.

Enhanced DBS

I am in the process of applying for an Enhanced DBS (May 2018) for my work on premises where children are present, this is also important when working with photographs of children for portraits. I encourage you to take this into account when sourcing a portrait artist for your child(ren), whether working from live sittings or photographs.


I am committed to ensuring that your information is secure. In order to prevent unauthorised access or disclosure, I have put in place suitable physical, electronic and managerial procedures to safeguard and secure the information I collect online.

How I use cookies

A cookie is a small file which asks permission to be placed on your computer's hard drive. Once you agree, the file is added and the cookie helps analyse web traffic or lets you know when you visit a particular site.
Cookies allow web applications to respond to you as an individual. The web application can tailor its operations to your needs, likes and dislikes by gathering and remembering information about your preferences.
I use Google Analytics and Facebook Pixel to identify which pages are being used. This anonymous user data helps me analyse data about web page traffic and improve my website in order to tailor it to customer needs.
I only use this information for statistical analysis purposes. If Google Analytics data is not removed by myself beforehand, I have scheduled it for automatic removal in 38 months.
Overall, cookies help me provide you with a better website, by enabling me to monitor which pages you find useful and which you do not.
A cookie in no way gives me access to your computer or any information about you, other than the data you choose to share with me.
You can choose to accept or decline cookies. Most web browsers automatically accept cookies, but you can usually modify your browser setting to decline cookies if you prefer. This may prevent you from taking full advantage of the website.

My website contains links to other websites I deem of interest. However, once you have used these links to leave my site, you should note that I do not have any control over that other website.

  • All my marketing emails and campaigns are based on voluntary registration in compliance with data protection law and Privacy and Electronic Communications Regulations. I will not retain your personal information any longer than required.
